This beautiful piece from India is intricately carved from camel bone. Since the ban of elephant tusk ivory, camel bone has become a popular material to continue this unique craftsmanship. The bones are provided by specific butchers and the tools used to carve the bones are made by the artisans themselves. The exterior of this little trinket box is painted with natural mineral dyes and the inside is lined with wood.

Please note that as this is an antique, parts of the paint may have faded.
