These leather bound journals are made by crafty artisans in a small village in Rajasthan, India. The inside pages are composed of cotton waste from textile mills, husks, broken leaves and flower petals rather than wood pulp, which is obtained by cutting down trees.

The paper used for this ornate Indian painting is an authentic legal document dated from the 1910-1950's. Since the Mughal and Persian periods, the Indian people have incorporated animals in art as a way to show their respect and love for the animal kingdom.
