Caucasian rugs are named after the region they were originally produced from, in the Caucasus Mountains. This style commonly weaves geometric or abstract designs using symmetrical knots. This region is hemmed in by the Black Sea, the Caspian Sea, Russia, Turkey and Iran.

This beautiful rustic prayer rug was made by Afghanistan's Baluch tribe residing in the south-western part of the country, though many of the Afghan rugs are also woven by Afghan refugees who reside in Pakistan and Iran.
